IGOR MUCALO ONE OF THE PANELLISTS AT THE CCA’S ANNUAL CONFERENCE
On 20 April 2023 the CCA held its annual conference titled “Annual Work Highlights of the CCA” in the premises of the Croatian Employers’ Association in Zagreb.
Our Igor Mucalo participated in the conference as one of the panellists in the panel “Settlements in prohibited agreements – a new instrument of the CCA and its relationship with leniency programs”. The panel was moderated by Prof. Ph.D. Siniša Petrović from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, and besides Igor, the panellists were Vesna Patrlj, LLM deputy president of the Competition Council, and Linda Križić, head of legal affairs in Heineken Hrvatska d.o.o.
The panellists agreed that this institute of cartel settlements represents a positive legislative step and a very useful and significant instrument in competition law enforcement.The discussion also identified potential challenges in the implementation of this institute, indicating the need that the CCA adopts guidelines with detailed interpretation of the application of these provisions of the Croatian Competition Act in practice.
