WE PARTICIPATED IN THE MAKING OF THE STUDY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PILOT PROJECT FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF SUBSTITUTION THERAPY IN PHARMACIES
In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ), preparatory activities are underway with the aim of revising the existing Guidelines for the Pharmacotherapy of Opiate Addicts with Methadone and the Guidelines for the Pharmacotherapy of Opiate Addicts with Buprenorphine adopted in 2006, in order to align them with the results of the evaluation of the implementation of substitution therapy, reduce the possibilities of therapy abuse, increase the costs savings of issuance and treatment of adverse clinical events.
As part of these activities, with the support of the Ministry of Health and HZJZ, the Croatian Chamber of Pharmacists in 2021, under the guidance of the scientific manager Ana Soldo prepared the Study on the Analysis of the Therapeutic, Legislative and Financial Presuppositions and Conditions for the Implementation of the Pilot Project for the Introduction of the Distribution of Substitution Therapy of Methadone and Buprenorphine in Pharmacies.
We are proud to have had the opportunity to participate with other expert authors in the preparation of the aforementioned Study in the part related to the legal analysis of the planned changes in the modalities of issuing substitution therapy to opiate addicts.
At the event organized by HZJZ on 10 December 2021, the representatives of the relevant ministries, county public health institutes, hospitals and relevant chambers were presented with the results of the Study, and Igor Mucalo presented the event participants with our contribution to the Study.
The Study is available on the official website of HZJZ.
